RUSSIAN FAKES: A DIFFERING OPINION
Recently a lot of fake silver marks appeared on the market.
One of them has been reported in
Members' Window # 45 by Mr. Willand Ringborg.
He claims that the mark shown below is a fake.
I have evidences that contradict Mr. Ringborg conclusion.
In the images shown below you may see six goblets and basket
bought by friend in USSR in official government run shops in
70's (in Krasnodar, then USSR, today Russia).
They bear marks exactly as that on the previous image.
Moreover, the goblets were brought to Poland and checked by Polish
officials who re-marked them (see image below). These two facts
suggest that the suspicious mark is not a fake.
All the items were produced in 1969 in Dagestan (USSR),
therefore I think that these marks were used in this period.
