AN INKSTAND FROM "REGNO DELLE DUE SICILIE"
This inkstand bears 'Regno delle due Sicilie' (note 1) hallmarks, period 'Restaurazione
(1830-1845)

The ink pot stands on a small tray (18 x 12,5 cm) with chiselled geometric decoration
and four paw feet 2 cm high. |
Three urns are bolted on the tray, with, on the sides, the ink pot and the powder
container 8 cm. high. The removable semispherical lid (diameter cm. 4) has a dolphin
on the top (3,5 cm). |

The container on the center supports a bell (diameter 5 cm) with the handle in the shape of two
intertwined dolphins (cm. 4,5)
The central pot is empty, and presumably contained the sealing wax. |

Two pen holders in the shape of intertwined tail fishes are bolted on the tray (7 cm high).

(1) Regno delle Due Sicilie is the name adopted for his Kingdom by Ferdinando IV of Borbone after the
'Restaurazione' and the end of Napoleonic era. The Kingdom comprised Sicily and Southern Italy territories,
formerly known as two separate Kingdoms of Sicilia and of Napoli (Kingdom of Sicily and Kingdom of Naples).
